Asio otus - Long-eared Owl / Hornuggla / Skovhornugle

Every year the long-eared Owls (Asio otus) have their get-togethers during wintertime, but even so it’s an amazing thing to watch the six of them in the same pine-tree in Soeborg, not very far from the center of Copenhagen.
They come back here every year, and every year they return to that same tree right next to the sidewalk of the suburban road, Holmevej.

Seeing it you wonder what it is that make the birds prefer that one tree to the next one...
